Road Worthy Certificates Bendigo Victoria RWC
In order to minimise the number of poorly maintained vehicles on the road, a Certificate of Roadworthiness is required in Victoria when a vehicle is sold or if a used vehicle is to be re-registered.
Lou Owen Autos car service in Bendigo provides Certificates of Roadworthiness and inspects both gasoline and LPG autogas cars. You can receive a certificate after your car has passed a roadworthy inspection ensuring that key components have not worn or deteriorated. In some cases a Certificate of Roadworthiness is also required to clear a Vehicle Defect Notice or a Notice of Unroadworthiness. Book a RWC inspection online or call us for more information!
How do I obtain a RWC in Bendigo?
A Certificate of Roadworthiness can only be issued by a licensed vehicle tester, operating from a nominated garage or service station. Lou Owen Autos is a licensed vehicle testing station that can inspect your vehicle and issue a Certificate of Roadworthiness.
To make sure the vehicle is safe for normal road use major safety items of your vehicle are checked during a typical roadworthy inspection:
• wheels and tyres
• seats and seat belts
• lamps and reflectors
• steering, suspension and braking systems
• windscreen, and windows including front windscreen wipers and washers
• the structure of the vehicle itself
• other safety related items on the body, chassis or engine.
Please note: The roadworthiness test is NOT a check of general condition or the mechanical reliability of the vehicle and it does NOT mean that your vehicle is in top condition without any wear or deterioration and non-safety related accessories (air conditioner, rear window demister, electric windows, rear-window wipers etc.) are working.
Furthermore, the test does not guarantee the items checked will continue to function after the inspection.
If you require a comprehensive check on the overall techincal condition and reliability of your vehicle, arrange a a fully comprehensive 150 point vehicle inspection with Lou Owen Autos. Book a service online or call our mechanics now!
What if my car fails the roadworthy inspection?
If any of the checked items fail to meet the standard, you will receive a rejection report and have seven days to repair the issues and return the vehicle for a second inspection of the failed items. If more than seven days elapse a complete roadworthy inspection must again be performed on the vehicle.
How much does a roadworthy inspection cost?
There is no fixed cost for obtaining a Certificate of Roadworthiness. It may depend on the age, type and condition of the vehicle being examined. Call us now for a free quote on roadworthy check for your vehicle!
